DIY: color tip nails

It's time to get your pamper on!  I usually do my own nails and rarely visit nail salons.  This becomes a problem when cool and fun nail art is everywheeeeere.  I mean, it's complete amateur hour when I'm doing my nails - getting one perfect coat on is a battle that I usually lose.  HOWEVER, when attempting this DIY I was actually surprised at how easy it was.  Easy in the sense that you're only really painting 1/4 of your nail vs. the entire nail.  And the easiest part (in my opinion) - just the tips!

It's a cool way to spice up your usual one full coat of one color without getting too caaraaazay!  And with spring coming up, think of all the fun pastels you can try this with.  Funz.

- Nail guide line stickers (beauty shops (Sally Beauty) or here)
- Clear coat nail polish
- Color nail polish
- Nail polish remover and toothpicks for mistakes

Place a base coat of clear nail polish on your nails.

Then, place the nail guide stickers on each nail to the desired length you'd like the color nail polish to go.  Make sure to adhere the edge well so the nail polish doesn't seep through.

Next, paint the tips of your nails with the color nail polish.  I used two coats.  Allow this to dry for roughly 15-20 minutes.

Remove the stickers very slowly and carefully.  Taking the stickers off too quickly can mess the edges up.

Dip the toothpick into the nail polish remover and use it to straighten and clean up the edges.  Allow the polish to dry for a few more minutes.

Last, place another clear coat on to of the entire nail.  Donezo!

enjoy your new nailsss!
