WEAR: sport laces with lace-up heels

Greetings, we realize things have been cold here - in more ways than one, but we are trying to slowly warm our way back into things. :) However, according to groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, there will be MORE WINTER!  Who died and made him sheriff of the weather world, right?  Well, being the rebels that we are, we are summer dreamin',  all day, everyday here. Ok, ok, let's not get ahead of ourselves, we'd be happy if SPRING just reared her pretty, little head.

For a day back in Texas, it was actually warm enough to snap these shots.  It's still February, not quite full blown spring, but hey, we'll take it!  And spring dreams are made of these … bare legs and strappy lace-up sandals.   These lace-up sandals sometimes known as gladiator sandals from about 2-3? years ago, have fought their way back into our lives last summer and they seem to be sticking around! Inspired by the amazing Maja Wyh, we too decided to add some color and put new life into our own pair of Zara lace-up sandals.

These laces were meant for my Nike tennis shoes.  The hot pink luckily contrasted well with the soft lavender of the faux snake print.  For plain black lace-up heels, neon green or yellow could really make the black pop.  These laces were a little bit wider than I wanted but it worked out for the more sporty look.  Try thinner laces for a sexier look.  Switching out laces on tennis shoes make them feel like new, so the same should apply to heels!

Happy reducing, reusing, and repurposing ... not just your laces, but have fun with your wardrobe!

  1. I am so pleased with the dress and buying it online. It makes me wonder how much profit those brick and mortar stores must be making.
